Melissa is a graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and member of the state bar of Maryland. Melissa also has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland College Park, with focuses in International Development and International Security Policy. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Before starting her own law firm with partner Katelynn E. Elliott, Melissa was previously employed at another private law firm in Maryland for four years. While still in Law School, Melissa was active in the University of Maryland’s Immigration Law Clinic successfully representing clients in removal proceedings. She has also interned with the Capital Area Immigrant Rights Coalition, as well as with Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services of the Archdiocese of Washington DC. During her time in law school, Melissa was the Treasurer of the Immigration Law and Policy Association where she assisted in organizing panels and events to serve the immigrant community. Additionally, Melissa served as Co-Outreach Chair of the Maryland Public Interest Law Project.
Melissa is fluent in Spanish, and an avid world traveler with deep connections to the immigrant community. Melissa has taught English as a Second Language to Adults part-time with Prince George’s Community College since 2009. Her deep connections with the immigrant community make her a zealous advocate that offers authentic and effective representation.

Katelynn graduated manga cum laude from The Catholic University of America in 2013, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts. She graduated from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2016. While in law school, she served as a member of the Journal of Health Care

Katelynn graduated manga cum laude from The Catholic University of America in 2013, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts. She graduated from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2016. While in law school, she served as a member of the Journal of Health Care Law and Policy for two years, rising to the level of Executive Articles Editor. She was active in the University of Maryland’s Immigration Law Clinic, successfully representing clients in removal proceedings. She also had the opportunity to serve as an intern with the Baltimore Immigration Court.
Katelynn is member of the Maryland Bar and has been practicing immigration law since 2016. She speaks Spanish and enjoys learning other languages. As the great-granddaughter of Polish immigrants, she is a zealous advocate for families pursuing the American dream and seeking refuge.
